Zipperling Cares About the Environment
Not only we follow a
comprehensive environmental strategy, but also we take part in the public discussion about
"plastics and environment". The following articles (including figures and
diagrams) are selected to inform you about our activities and opinions. This is done with
the hope that this might stimulate more productive discussions followed by efficient
actions as well within the plastics and chemical industry as in the society (media,
politics, people themselvses).
On July 2nd, 1996, a congress with 800 participants took place in Bonn: "Entrepreneurs for the Environment". The speakers were the President of the German Federal Bank, Hans Tiedtmeier; the Chancellor of the Federal republik of Germany, Helmut Kohl; Dr. Bernhard Wessling, Ormecon Chemie (and 2 other entrepreneurs). The photo shows H. Tiedtmeier (right), Dr. Wessling (3rd from right), The Federal Minister of Environment, Angela Merkel, Chancellor Helmut Kohl, The General Secretary of the Federal Environment Foundation, Dr. Fritz Brickwedde. Ormecon Chemie and the 2 other companies had been funded by the Environment Foundation.

The Great Fallacy in the Waste Management Policy (available upon request, English) - Zipperlings president, Dr. B. Wessling, succeeded in 1994 to find and gather a group of
environmental experts with national and international reputation. This group worked out an
extensive concept for an environmental strategy of the plastics industry. The concept is
in discussion in Germany and should be also in other countries.
