| Company status mid of 1999: The turnover has reached the level which was planned for 1999. Break even has not yet been reached, mainly due to a growth of costs faster than originally planned. The factory started in 1997 is bigger than would be actually needed, but sufficiently big for future growth, and with now 23 employees, more than originally planned for in the break even scenario. A further reason is the time scale which is needed especially in corrosion protection, before customers are willing to order in commercial scale. Testing in the PCB production also takes a lot of time before the installation of a commercial line can start. |
At march 9th, 1996, Zipperling Kessler & Co. announced that a new company named "Ormecon Chemie GmbH Co., KG" (Our Team...), was formed as a 100% daughter the day before.
"Ormecon Chemie" will take over from Zipperling all activities related with the research, development, and market introduction of the new organic metal ORMECON (polyaniline) and the various products like ORMECON (for transparent antistatic coatings), CORRPASSIV and CORREPAIR for corrosion protection in industrial and DIY applications, resp.
This new venture will start with 8 people and Dr. Bernhard Wessling as president. It is planned to have 15 coworkers during 1997. Successful sales, which started in small amount in 1993/94, have reached in 1995 a level which gave confidence to some significant growth beginning in 1996. The introduction of several new products into various markets is actually progressing.
Zipperling is providing enough financial backup for start-up losses in the next years until break-even, which is expected, according to Ormecon's management, for 1999.
