TECHNICAL DATA

CORRPASSIV Primer CP 4001

CORRPASSIV primers are dispersions of the intrinsically conductive polymer polyaniline in specially formulated, conventional lacquer systems.

This primer adheres very well on all metal surfaces especially on light metals , e.g. aluminum.

New mechanism of action - Due to the noble metal character of polyaniline it passivates metal surfaces, and for this reason it can be used in corrosion protection primer systems.

active corrosion protection by means of
the "organic noble metal" polyanilin
impact and scratch-resistant
coatable with almost any conventional
top coat, compatibility should be tested
before
use.

Field of application and processability

  • corrosion protection primer for metal surfaces (iron, cast iron, steel, aluminum, etc.)
  • stir / shake well before use
  • coat proportionately
  • roll and spray coating is possible
  • recommended coating thickness approx. 20 u
  • thinner xylene / 2-methoxypropan-1-ol / propan-1-ol (34/33/33)
  • cleaning of tools: immediately after work with recommended thinner

Coating application

  • surface must be clean and dry
  • iron / steel: remove rust thoroughly (by sandblasting or with CORREPAIR Clean-up),
  • remove old coatings
  • coat 1 - 2 times ( depends on demands )
  • apply top coat

Please note that a final coat is essential for optimal functioning of this primer.
